Shahzia Sikander
Shahzia Sikander born in 1969, Lahore, Pakistan she is one of the great artist who lives in United State in New York city, she is Pakistani and American artist who works
in drawing, painting, animation, large scale installation, performance and
video. She is one of my favorite and creative artists. Sikander try to
represent the relationship between the present and the past, between what she
feel and her religion, I read some Islamic sentences in some of her galleries
( picure No 3 ) that she made and that comes from Quran, one of that sentence means god can do
anything, as I know about Indian culture, her art sometimes represent richness of
multicultural identities in Indian cultural and she always develop new things and
Integrated with both personal and social histories, her work invites multiple
meanings.
